Description
Group Art Therapy
Your Community in the Journey of Healing
Self-reflect, understand relationships and build actionable self awareness using art materials with women witnessing similar life situations under the guidance of a registered art psychotherapist. Look at yourself more closely through the different roles and reflect on the relationships in your personal, social and professional settings.
What is Art Therapy?
Art therapy started to become a formal program of treatment around the 1940s. In this context, art is not used as a diagnostic tool but as a medium to address emotional issues. It is used to reduce anxiety, depression, eating disorders, emotional difficulties, family or relationship problems, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and substance use disorder. It provides self-awareness, self-esteem, clarity of thoughts, social skills, and managing overthinking and stress.
What Happens in a Manoshala’s Art Therapy Group Session?
This session will allow you to think about your needs while recognizing expectations from your relationships and career to ensure development of healthy methods of self-care and expression. First, you will map your thoughts through guided activities like colouring, doodling, scribbling, finger painting, and working with clay or mandalas. Then our registered art psychotherapist will help you to reflect on themes that are affecting your thoughts and behaviors.
